[Verse 1] He got sugar on his fingers Gosh a bloody sugar high Grabs a sticky handful of candy From a lucky lifetime supply Every little chew a little escape Every little bite says stay He can’t stop filling his pockets His open empty face [Chorus] He’s gettin’ fat like a little pig Too fat to leave, too fat to leave He’s gettin’ fat like a little pig "Too fat to leave, you'll see" His sister says, “Boy, you’re done” But he just keeps on believin’ Better to be eating than be grieving Too fat to leave, too fat to leave [Verse 2] He’s eating his rejection now Chewin’ every “no” he heard Swallowing the hard old words Like they were candy, sweet and cured And every lick of cherry sweets Fills a hollow in his chest Left by the mother who turned him out With sticky feelings he can’t digest [Chorus] He’s gettin’ fat like a little pig Too fat to leave, too fat to leave He’s gettin’ fat like a little pig "Too fat to leave, you'll see" His sister says, “Boy, you’re done” But he just keeps on believin’ Better to be eating than be grieving Too fat to leave, too fat to leave [Verse 3] Keeps on eatting off the cottage With a gumdrop door ajar Sugar shingles, licorice railings And a window like a star His sister says, “This candy cabin Hides a deadly truth The feelings that you're eating Will get the best of you." [Bridge] He says, “Just one more piece” With his mouth all stained and bright She grabs his sleeve, she shakes her head Says, “Brother, we can still get right” But the sweet door shuts behind him And the sugar floor starts to creak He takes a bite before he sees it And his jelly legs grow weak [Final Chorus] He’s gettin’ fat like a little pig Too fat to leave, too fat to leave He’s gettin’ fat like a little pig "Too fat to leave, you'll see" His sister says, “Boy, you’re done” But he just keeps on believin’ Better to be eating than be grieving Too fat to leave, too fat to leave
