[Spoken Intro] There is a life beyond the reach of death. A flame no darkness can extinguish. A hope no grave can swallow. A promise no power of hell can break. The life that Christ begins in the soul will shine forever in His glory. For the Christian can declare: CHRIST IS MY LIFE! [Verse 1] I cannot trace the hidden mystery Of how His life began in me, But now the risen Christ within Has broken every chain of sin. The life I have is not my own, His seed of grace within me sown; The spark that burns by heaven's flame Will shine forever in His name! [Pre-Chorus] Born by grace, sustained by power, Kept by Christ in every hour! What He begins, He will complete— His life in me shall never cease! [Chorus] THE LIFE THAT CANNOT DIE! THE HOPE THAT REACHES HIGH! Though earth may shake and mountains fall, My Christ will never fail! THE LIFE THAT CANNOT DIE! HIS LOVE WILL NEVER LIE! From grace on earth to endless glory— JESUS LIVES IN ME! [Verse 2] The saints above are not reborn; The life they have is still the dawn Of what began when Christ came in And called my dead heart out of sin. The child of grace shall one day stand Made perfect by the Savior's hand; The flame that flickers here below Will blaze where heaven's glories glow! [Pre-Chorus] Here in weakness, there in splendor, Here the seed, there full surrender! One same life from Christ the King, One eternal song we'll sing! [Verse 3] What king can claim this life divine? What earthly crown compares with mine? Not rank or gold, not royal name— But Christ in me, the hope of fame! The angels praise before His throne, Yet Christ has made the redeemed His own; The blood-bought saints can boldly say, “My Christ is life both now and aye!” [Verse 4] And if my Christ is life within, How can I make my peace with sin? His holy heart will shape my own; His righteousness will make me grown. Not by my strength, nor boast, nor pride, But Christ Himself lives deep inside; His grace will teach my feet to stand And walk in step with His command! [Bridge — Heavy, Building] NO DAGGER CAN REACH HIM! NO DARKNESS CAN CLAIM HIM! NO TEMPEST CAN SHAKE HIM! NO GRAVE CAN CONTAIN HIM! My life is hidden With Christ on high! Unless my Savior dies— MY LIFE WILL NEVER DIE! [Breakdown — Lead Vocal and Choir] When temptation rages—CHRIST IS MY LIFE! When the darkness gathers—CHRIST IS MY LIFE!
