[Verse 1] Before the light becomes a place Before the numbers settle down The world is made of maybes still Silent patterns turning round Probabilities in the dark Unfolding where we cannot see A thousand futures drift as one Until we look, and one will be [Chorus] Collapse the waves Let everything become itself Let all the restless questions rest Collapse the waves The universe decides tonight And all the scattered stars grow still Drift with the clouds Drift back to sleep [Verse 2] The rain moves softly through the trees The rain runs silver on the glass The clouds are crossing overhead While countless possibilities pass No particle can tell us where Tomorrow’s hidden shape will lie We only trace the faintest paths Like distant weather in the sky [Chorus] Collapse the waves Let everything become itself Let all the restless questions rest Collapse the waves The universe decides tonight And all the scattered stars grow still Drift with the clouds Drift back to sleep [Bridge] Probabilities in the dark A thousand worlds we’ve never known The night is wider than we are But we were never here alone The rain keeps falling through the hours The clouds keep drifting out of sight And somewhere deep inside the dark The universe becomes the light [Final chorus] Collapse the waves Let everything become itself Let all the restless questions rest Collapse the waves The universe decides tonight Drift with the clouds Drift back to sleep
