Bite Through the Sky

[Verse 1] Woke up chewing on drywall Tongue full of rust and nails Fingernails ticking on concrete Clock in my skull derails Neighbors’ eyes in the peephole Blink like red cigarette ends Every shadow wearing my face Every mirror calls me “friend” [Chorus] Rip out the wires from my head Scratch at the paint till it sheds Paranoid halo Crooked and red I wanna bite through the sky I wanna bite through the sky [Verse 2] Crawling the walls in a zip-tie halo Laugh marks carved in the door Bible pages stuffed in my molars Still I’m begging for more Laughter dripping from ceiling fans Spinning like a black lung joke I hear footsteps under my skin Every heartbeat tasting like smoke [Chorus] Rip out the wires from my head Scratch at the paint till it sheds Paranoid halo Crooked and red I wanna bite through the sky I wanna bite through the sky [Bridge] [Feedback howls Drums stutter Vocals distant] Teeth in the static Hands in the drain Who turned the faucet On my brain (hey!) Face in the carpet Buzzing like flies If I stop screaming The silence lies [Chorus] Rip out the wires from my head Scratch at the paint till it sheds Paranoid halo Crooked and red I wanna bite through the sky I wanna bite through the sky (bite, bite) I wanna bite through the sky
