[Verse 1] On the podium sat a crow with a bread-made folder in his hand He said: "We must protect the air, but first support my plan" A dove raised up its little wing and called for peace today Then a rooster from the gallery cried: "You’re going the wrong way!" [Chorus] Birds in parliament, flying here and there Promise seeds to everyone, but never really share Birds in parliament, pecking at the law When the voting time is done, they fly away once more [Verse 2] A seagull wanted open ports, a swan dreamed of the sea A little bird said: "Save the woods, they mean so much to me" But the eagle spoke for hours of the view from up above Then he took the final cake and called it "public love" [Chorus] Birds in parliament, flying here and there Promise seeds to everyone, but never really share Birds in parliament, pecking at the law When the voting time is done, they fly away once more [Bridge] Then came a little thrush and asked: "Who cleans up this mess?" The whole room became silent, no one had a word to guess [Chorus] Birds in parliament, flying here and there Promise seeds to everyone, but never really share Birds in parliament, pecking at the law When the voting time is done, they fly away once more [Outro] Outside the people waited for a brighter kind of day Inside a feather circled round and turned into a new plan
