--- 🎵 “Highway Star” --- Intro: 🎹 Piano vamp with banjo roll — quick drum fill, then sax answers. (Band swings into groove) --- Verse 1: Rollin’ down that open road, neon lights in my rearview glow, Radio playin’ that two-step song, singin’ loud as the miles roll on. Left my troubles in a small-town bar, Now I’m chasin’ dreams under these stars. Wind in my hair, feelin’ free so far — I was born to be a highway star. --- Chorus: I’m a highway star, runnin’ wild and free, Got the pedal down, nothin’ catchin’ me. Banjo pickin’, moonlight shinin’ bright, Sax man blowin’ through a Saturday night. Heart on fire, that’s who we are — Yeah, I’m a bluegrass-swingin’ highway star. --- Verse 2: Stopped for coffee at a midnight stand, Sweet little lady took me by the hand. Said, “Boy, you look like a ramblin’ man,” I said, “Darlin’, that’s exactly what I am.” She laughed and said, “Don’t drive too far,” But I was born to chase that spark. With a smile, she waved from the door of her car — Said, “Go on, you crazy highway star.” --- 🎷 Saxophone Solo (8 bars): Smooth and playful — followed by banjo trading licks with sax. --- Bridge: Now every town feels just like home, Every dance floor, another love I’ve known. Life keeps rollin’ like a steel guitar, And I just keep drivin’ beneath these stars. --- Final Chorus: I’m a highway star, runnin’ wild and free, Got the pedal down, nothin’ catchin’ me. Banjo pickin’, moonlight shinin’ bright, Sax man blowin’ through a Saturday night. Heart on fire, chasin’ that spark — Yeah, I’m a honky-tonk-lovin’ highway star. --- Outro: 🎹 Piano riff — 🎷 Sax finishes with a bluesy run 🎸 Banjo tag line: “Highway star…” fade with soft brushes on snare ---
