*4* Confession of Pilate to Herod

V6-WILD

Introduction On the roads of Galilee, the silence of a world turning upside down. Haunted by the shadow of the Just One, Pilate takes up his pen to confess the unspeakable to Herod. Verse 1 I washed my hands before the raging crowd, Thinking I could stifle the prophet's cry aloud. But the stone rolled away, the tomb was emptied wide, And innocent blood came back to haunt my side. The soldiers saw, the executioners shook with dread, The One we nailed to the cross came to speak to what we did. Chorus Where do we flee from the light of Day? When the heavens open along the winding way. It is no longer a king we drag to the cross, It is the master of time, counting every loss. Lord of the righteous, hear our voice plead, We fall face down to the earth, humbled indeed. Verse 2 Procla, my wife, beheld the visions clear, Shattering our illusions and casting out fear. She took the road with the centurions in tow, To meet His gaze and break the prisons we know. And on her bruised body, the marks of the wood, Gleam like the echo of a supreme dread understood. Herod, Verse 3 Herod, you pushed me to arm my own hands, To judge the Judge across these shifting lands. But thunder rumbled over a trembling earth, And the temple's fragrance descended in my dearth. I have sinned, I have bowed in His blinding light, Imploring His mercy for our wrongful night. Chorus Where do we flee from the light of Day? When the heavens open along the winding way. It is no longer a king we drag to the cross, It is the master of time, counting every loss. Lord of the righteous, hear our voice plead, We fall face down to the earth, humbled indeed. Outro He lifted us up with His scarred hands... And Rome's shadows finally made amends. The Son of Man is alive, Forever and ever... Silence over Judea... silence...
