[Verse 1] Smoke from the grill, rising slow in the air, Cool drinks in hand, without a care. Flip-flops tapping on the back porch floor, Laughin’ 'til our sides are sore. Barefoot dancing in the fading heat, Tunes from the radio, soft and sweet. That golden sky, it paints us all, Like a memory you never want to fall. [Chorus] In the evening light, we come alive, Hearts wide open, fireflies dive. Stories shared, no need for plans, Just good food, good friends, and sunburnt tans. Time stands still, and we don’t mind, These summer nights, one of a kind. Under stars that start to shine, We’re alright… in the evening light. [Verse 2] Someone’s strumming on an old guitar, Singing off-key like a backyard star. The fire’s cracklin’, the plates stacked high, Grillin’ corn under the lavender sky. The world feels small, but it’s all we need, With sparklers lit and mouths to feed. Laughter floats like smoke through the trees, Riding the rhythm of a warm night breeze. [Bridge] We’ll remember this when the days grow cold, The jokes, the songs, the hands we hold. Another summer may come and go, But this one stays in our soul. [Final Chorus] In the evening light, we come alive, Forever young in the soft July. The fire may fade, the stories may end, But tonight, we’re more than friends. Time stands still, and we don’t mind, These summer nights, one of a kind. Under stars that start to shine, We’re alright… in the evening light. [Outro] Yeah, we’re alright… in the evening light.
