A lot of babies spill their juice so Jimmie figured it was no use to stop baby John from talking with his hands. She said, "Baby Spill. Baby Spill. You'll soon grow out of this, Young Man." But lunch trays tipped over and soda cans fell down. Spilt milk made his classmates cry. They said, "Baby Spill! go to hell!" A teardrop spilled from Baby's eye. But then college. Ah, ah, ah. College. Ah, ah, ah. Drinks falling in the fraternity. They said, "Doctor Spill" and shook his hand. "You've earned your spilling PhD." If a drink falls in the forest and no one else is there We're pretty sure that it was you. And if a Sani-Can pops open while it's still being used. We're pretty sure that it was you. But now the problem of being forty-one. Look at life and it's halfway done. As though somebody spilled it on the floor. We say, "Doctor Spill. Cheer up, Chap." We're sure you're going to spill some more. Tumbling medications and Centrum Silver jars clatter 'cross the convalescent wing. They'll say, "Doctor Spill. Doctor Spill. Alzheimer's hasn't changed a thing." And someday when we're all just ghosts and sitting 'round making ghost juice toasts and my juice glass gets knocked out of my hand I'll say, "Doctor Spill. Doctor Spill. I know you're still out there, My Friend."
