Amore e Psiche

V5.5

Amore amava Psiche— e Psiche amava Amore. The god of love beheld a bright-winged butterfly, and the butterfly, trembling in sacred light, lifted her gaze toward the god. By the breath of immortal love her fragile wings were transformed once more— not toward earthly longing, but from one holy beauty toward another. ⸻ Amore amava Psiche— e Psiche amava Amore. The wings of Amore shine with white and radiant fire; the wings of Psiche answer in soft iridescent light. The more she loves the light she receives, the more brightly still she glows. And Amore delights in every changing color of her soul. Thus beauty answers beauty, and light answers light. Only from good divinity toward good divinity. ⸻ Amore amava Psiche— e Psiche amava Amore. Each breath awakens another light. Each light draws the two souls nearer. And every time the souls draw nearer, they rise a little farther through the silent air of heaven. The more they rise, the more they shine. The more they shine, the more they become one. Until love itself becomes a shining ladder between mortal beauty and the eternal. ⸻ Amore amava Psiche— e Psiche amava Amore. Few among humankind can witness such a union. For love does not always need to appear before the eyes. Sometimes it exists only as light answering light, as beauty calling softly to another beauty. Sometimes it rises silently through realms no mortal sees. Yet the deathless gods behold it clearly, and call it beautiful. ⸻ Amore amava Psiche— e Psiche amava Amore. And in the meeting of their wings another light was born. And in the meeting of that light another heaven opened. Only from good divinity toward good divinity. Amore amava Psiche— e Psiche amava Amore.
