(Oh no, no, no, not while I'm home alone) (YEOWWW! My pinky toe!) (WHOA-AAAAHHHH! WHAT WAS THAT?!) I was sitting in my socks watching late TV Now the whole house is black as the bottom of the sea I am creeping down the hallway with my hands on the wall Trying not to trip and take another giant fall My chest is pounding heavy like an eight-pound sledge I feel my way along the banister edge I reach the closet door where the breaker should be I turn the brass knob but I cannot see (Hhhk!) (I-I'm calling the police right now, I swear!) (Zero percent?! Come on!) The floor is creaking and my knees are weak I try to holler but I only make a squeak Blackout in the hall, everybody freeze (Everybody freeze) Knocked the coat rack over on my knees (On my knees) Blackout in the house, where is the light? (Where's the light?) Swinging with a broomstick in the night (In the night) I reached inside the closet looking for the metal box My fingers brushing past the winter coats and wool socks Then something soft and fuzzy dropped right on my neck (It's touching me... please don't bite...) (GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF OF ME!) I struck a wooden match with a trembling hand Turned out it was a scarf from my grandma in Newfoundland (Phew... it's just wool. It's just a scarf.) (NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!) The floor is creaking and my knees are weak I try to holler but I only make a squeak Blackout in the hall, everybody freeze (Everybody freeze) Knocked the coat rack over on my knees (On my knees) Blackout in the house, where is the light? (Where's the light?) Swinging with a broomstick in the night (In the night) (Leave the house. It belongs to the raccoon now.) Blackout in the hall, everybody freeze (Everybody freeze) Knocked the coat rack over on my knees (On my knees) Blackout in the house, where is the light? (Where's the light?) Swinging with a broomstick in the night (In the night) Sitting on the lawn in my pajamas in the rain That raccoon can have the house and run the whole domain (Blackout, yeah) (Keep the breaker) (I'm sleeping in the driveway tonight.)
