TEETH AND IRONCLAD LAW A tale of teeth, denied a meal, a man of God, and his daily appeal. Upon his knees, three times a day, the man of God, continually prays. Within the den, across the way, hungry lions, wait for prey. A law was cast, the tale’s in play, how a Godly man, met the lions this day. The petition read, ask none but the king, any request, or feel his sting. Spies were sent, a report did they bring, a man of position, disrespected the king. Unwilling pawns, were the man and the king, of some jealous rivals, and a devious scheme. Using the law, which could not be changed, twas clever deception, to deride and defame. The man was the target, as a political slave, holding high office, he was without blame. Unwilling to bend, his faith would not hide, no matter the law, he was willing to die. The order went forth, into the den was he thrown, where teeth of the lions, would tear flesh and bone. The king was unhappy, but he trusted his friend, said “God protect from the lions , who you trust to the end!” The lions encircled, but did not attack, though their teeth were sharp, something was holding them back. What unseen force stopped these man eating beasts, a meal before them, which they refused to eat? In the dark night, the King could not sleep, paced the floor, did this king weep? Early the King stood outside the den, Has your God Protected, my servant and friend? O King live forever, His power descends, from the teeth of the lion, an Angel defends. The King gave order, free Daniel my friend, and those Jealous rivals, let the lions have them! Teeth had the meal, postponed for a night, the lions feasted on those that did wrong and not right.
