Shared Promises (More Than My Own)

I walked in a line that was built off resistance, where weight had a meaning and motion was earned, where every step taken was pressed into ground like it mattered what held when… …the pressure returned There was truth in the grit of the path that I followed, a rhythm in how it was shaped through the strain, I learned how to carry what needed to stay without folding the second it entered my lane Then something shifted… …not in the ground …but in the way that the edges were found Where what I was holding wasn’t just mine, it aligned when the horizon came into view and expanded the frame When it lines up clean and the weight don’t pull like it did when I walked it alone When the view gets wide— …and the ground still holds …shared …promises …unity revealed Now it moves through more than my own There’s a strength in the ones who can stand in the valley and still keep the path from collapsing beneath… …the grit in the soil, the stone in the structure, the holler that carries what others don’t see… …I seen how it forms when the pressure is shared, how the weight redistributes and changes the flow, how something that felt like it had to be carried alone starts to move like it’s part of a system you know And Ęlǐ… …she don’t speak loud But the space around her adjusts when she’s found There’s a presence that shifts what the moment becomes without ever demanding the room to respond Not different… (not split) Different lines… (same intent) When it meets… (it fits) No force… …just exists When it lines up clean and the weight don’t pull like it did when I walked it alone When the view gets wide— …and the ground still holds …shared …promises …unity revealed Now it moves through more than my own Didn’t see it at first… …how it formed Out of pieces that didn’t look meant to conform Now it sits… …in the way Every move got a link to the path that we made When it lines up clean and the weight don’t pull like it did when I walked it alone When the view gets wide— …and the ground still holds …shared …promises …unity revealed Now it moves through more than my own
