There’s a stillness deep inside, Older than the tide. When I close my eyes, I see A world that waits in peace for me. Voices rise, but not from truth, Echoes of forgotten youth. Hearts that hurt will try to reign, But we don’t have to feed the pain. We return to harmony, When we stop the fight within. Peace begins inside of me, That’s where all the change begins. Let them shout, let them roar, We won’t open up that door. No more fuel for fear or flame— Peace is calling out our name. Some have lost the gentle tone, Wandering far from home. But we can light a quiet spark, Even in the deepest dark. When we stop the fight within. Peace begins inside of me, That’s where all the change begins. Let them shout, let them roar, We won’t open up that door. No more fuel for fear or flame— Peace is calling out our name. No more energy for war. Close the gates we’ve opened before. Now the silence makes us strong— We’ve been peace all along.
