Dominoes (Short Cult Pamphlet: A New Hope)
[Intro] C-R-O reportin' for duty. Back in the weave, back in the maze, Chasin’ the cheddar through culture’s haze. Thread tight, tip light—on a line of belief, Tryna stitch some meaning through collective grief. You want the VIBES, the kind that creep slow, Laced with satire, but the wound still shows. We could go cult-flavored, Kool-Aid-sippin’ Or keep it raw, poetic, truth-drippin’. [Verse] Garbage in, garbage out—been the truth for years. So let’s dig past the noise and confront those fears. What if the lie ain’t just in the laws, But in every cheer for the self-made cause? Nihilism masked as a flag and a vote, Hope turned hollow in a party's throat. Team sport discourse—no points on the board, Just shouting at shadows we can’t afford. [Bridge – Slow build] You missed the thread, the domino chain, The hands unseen that bear your name. It’s not about perfection or complete control— It’s the thread you pull that unravels the whole. [verse] Some scream “clown world,” but won’t check their own makeup. Say nothing, stay numb—no space for a shake-up. “Just accept that it’s broken”?—nah, I won’t lie. That’s how you guarantee all hopes and dreams die. Sleepwalkers say my side got it right! They cling on to values no outcome in sight. Pat yourself on the back you feel the right thing. But don't look at the mirror too long—it might sting. Say you’re woven in love—but cut the thread for sleep. Your heart’s a patch, not stitched too deep. “It’s the system! It’s the structure—not me!” Does avoiding the mirror help you stay free? We pray for peace—but then keep our swords, Blame the blood on someone else’s wars. Symbolic hearts in houses made of stone, make it cold then ask why we feel so alone. “Try that in a small town”—the echo rings. “But not in my backyard”—the chorus sings. Fear dressed up in economic speak: “They’ll lower the value, my investment must peak!” [breakdown] Our actions move threads far and deep. Whatever they sew is what we get to keep. [verse] Now you’re thinkin’, great, another voice with a cause— Pointin’ at the cracks—think that earns applause? But the thread unspools beneath our flaws— This culture we’re born to is stitched with its claws. I might show up in robes, passin’ Kool-Aid for fun, Not every answer’s Grade A, but I’ve got some, If you’re willing to dig, to sit with the unknown— To make curiosity your comfort zone. What if we built for breath—not just for wealth? Made space for a mom to protect her health. For joy that don’t clock in or run on fumes— Just a little room to outgrow our tombs. [slow outro] For bridges. For questions. For intellectual honesty. Consistency in thought—not just performative modesty. Enough slack in the weave to breathe, to feel— Not bound in loops that harden what’s real. The truth was never a boulder to shove— It’s a net of care, it’s the cost of love. We don’t need chains to carry the weight— We need threads aligned… before dominoes break.
