[steam train whistle] [train engine chugging] [crowd chatter] Verse 1 The train rolled on through thunder, Through valleys soaked with rain, Past signal boxes glowing red And churches by the lane. The guard cried, "Kingdom Ron! Next stop for wonders rare!" Every carriage burst to life. "Now there's a place worth seeing!" The morning fog was lifting When the city came in sight, With towers made of clockwork And a hundred lantern lights. Brass banners lined the station walls. Great posters hung on high. WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM OF RON WHERE EVERY TREASURE HAS A STORY And most have several. Verse 2 [market crowd] [accordion] The marketplace was bustling With traders, carts and stalls. Relics stretched for miles, it seemed, From alleyways to halls. One fellow sold Elijah's boots. Another had his cloak. A woman claimed she'd found the stick That Moses used for frogs. A man displayed three crowns of thorns. A second offered four. I said, "How many crowns were there?" He said, "Depends which shop you're in." Chorus Hey! Welcome to the Kingdom of Ron, Where every stone's a find, And every ancient mystery Is freshly redefined. Welcome to the Kingdom of Ron, Where every claim belongs. Step right up and hear the tale. It gets better as it goes on. Verse 3 Then through the crowd there came a voice. A booming voice at that. A crimson coat. A silver cane. A gleaming top hat. The crowd all cheered. "The Governor!" "The Curator!" "The King!" And there was Ron himself at last, Beaming like it was Christmas. He shook my hand enthusiastically. "Welcome, lad. Come see the collection." I said, "I've heard about it." Ron replied, "You've heard half." Verse 4 [grand reveal] [orchestra swells] He led me through a palace hall Where relics filled the room. Glass cabinets and chandeliers Beneath a painted dome. "Here's one of Noah's teacups." "Nice." "And Jonah's travelling spoon." "Right." "And half the original stable roof From Bethlehem." I paused. "Half?" "Well... possibly a quarter." Chorus Welcome to the Kingdom of Ron, Where every fact expands, And every object somehow seems More special than planned. Welcome to the Kingdom of Ron, Where history never ends. If the evidence feels slightly thin, The story always bends. Verse 5 A thousand maps adorned the walls. Each marked with sacred spots. Every hill concealed a secret cave. Every cave had lots. "Proof beneath that hillside!" Ron exclaimed with pride. I said, "Can we go and have a look?" He blinked. Then looked outside. [rain sounds] "Not today. It's rather wet." [Spoken Section] I said, "Ron, mate... have you actually seen all these things yourself?" Ron stopped. For the first time all day. Then smiled. "Some." "Some?" "Well... some I've seen." "And the others?" "I've heard tremendous reports." Verse 6 The evening feast began at dusk. The brass band filled the square. Every trader, scholar, saint And storyteller there. Ron stood atop a giant crate And raised a shining cup. "My friends! The world's a wondrous place. Let's not stop digging it up!" The crowd roared back. The fireworks flew. The church bells joined the din. And looking round I had to laugh. For all his faults, Ron's joy was genuine. Bridge [music softens] I thought of storms and rumours, Of shadows out at sea. Of lights mistaken for angels By fellows just like me. Perhaps the trouble wasn't Ron. Not really. Not alone. Perhaps we all like finding things That make the mystery feel known. Big Final Chorus [full company] Welcome to the Kingdom of Ron, Where every relic shines. Where every road leads somewhere strange And every clue's a sign. Welcome to the Kingdom of Ron, Where wonder fills the air. Some treasures may be doubtful, But enthusiasm's everywhere. It's all common, mate, Use your nut and think it through. A thing don't become historical Just because somebody wants it to. Outro [train whistle in distance] As darkness settled on the town And lanterns lined the way, Ron handed me a folded map. "Take this." "What's on it?" He grinned. "A place called Hidden Knowledge." "What's there?" Ron leaned in. "No one knows." I sighed. "Go on then." [train engine starts] And off we went again. [steam whistle] [fade out with distant crowd singing] "Welcome to the Kingdom of Ron..."
