[Verse 1] I came with love, not stones in my hand I came to tell you what the Word demands Grace is wide, but it don’t bend truth He calls the broken, He calls the youth If I say “come close,” I can’t play pretend Can’t dress up the cross and skip the end He wants your pride, your plan, your name Every hidden corner, bring it all the same [Pre-Chorus] Not half in, not halfway He wants the whole heart, whole way Not just tears when the night gets cold He wants your life, your hands, your soul [Chorus] Surrender first, surrender first Lay it down, let the old self burst Jesus saves, Jesus calls All of you, not just the walls Surrender first, surrender first (whole life, whole life) He won’t leave you where you were Surrender first [Verse 2] I’m not here to point and shame I’m here to speak His holy name Truth and love, they walk as one No pick-and-choose with the risen Son He met me raw, He met me real He showed me how repentance feels Not a mask, not a Sunday pose But a daily yes when nobody knows [Pre-Chorus] Not half in, not halfway He wants the whole heart, whole way Not just lips when the choir goes He wants the life that only He knows [Chorus] Surrender first, surrender first Lay it down, let the old self burst Jesus saves, Jesus calls All of you, not just the walls Surrender first, surrender first (whole life, whole life) He won’t leave you where you were Surrender first [Bridge] I used to clutch what I could control Till He reached past me and made me whole Now I know what mercy costs You don’t gain life by holding off Take the cross, take the fire Take the truth that lifts you higher He’s not asking for a little piece He’s asking for your full release [Chorus] Surrender first, surrender first Lay it down, let the old self burst Jesus saves, Jesus calls All of you, not just the walls Surrender first, surrender first (whole life, whole life) He won’t leave you where you were Surrender first
