Stranger in My Own Reality
Verse 1 Close my eyes for a minute, then the ground shifts under me, New street, new sky, but the faces all say they remember me. They call my name like I’ve been gone, like I just came home again, But I’m standing there with empty hands, pretending I understand. Pre‑Chorus Every time the darkness hits, I fall into another life, One blink and I’m somebody’s friend, somebody’s ghost, somebody’s light. Chorus Everywhere I go, they know my name, But I don’t know the rules of the worlds I’m in. I’m a stranger wearing a borrowed face, Living every life except the one I’m in. Close my eyes and I disappear, Wake up somewhere I’ve never been, but they know me there. Verse 2 One world says I’m a hero, next one says I broke their trust, Another swears I saved their town, another whispers I turned to dust. I’m chasing versions of myself scattered through a thousand doors, Trying to find the one I lost, the one I was before. Bridge Maybe these aren’t new worlds at all, Maybe they’re memories I forgot. Maybe I’m not travelling through time, Maybe I’m travelling through who I was. Verse 3 — The World That Knows Too Much I step into a market square, and children run up calling “You’re back,” An old man hands me a silver coin, says “You dropped this on your last path.” A woman swears she loved me once, another says I saved her son, But I’ve never lived a day here, and still they know what I’ve become. I ask them who they think I am, They smile like it’s a joke I planned. Pre‑Chorus 2 — The Cracks in Reality Every blink is pulling threads from lives I never meant to weave, Every world is holding pieces of a truth I can’t retrieve. Chorus (Reprise) — Bigger, Stranger, Heavier Everywhere I go, they know my name, But I’m losing track of who I’ve been. I’m a shadow walking through borrowed days, Living every life except the one I’m in. Close my eyes and I disappear, Wake up somewhere I’ve never been, but they know me there. Verse 4 — The First World That Fears You This time the sky is burning red, and soldiers point their guns at me, They shout my name like it’s a curse, like I’m the ghost they hoped to see. A captain says, “You finally came — the prophecy is almost done,” But I don’t know the war I caused, or what they think I’ve already won. I try to run, but every door Leads to a world I’ve seen before. Bridge 2 — The Realisation Maybe I’m not the traveller — Maybe I’m the one being chased. Maybe every world I fall into Is trying to pull me back in place. Maybe I’m the missing piece Of a thousand lives I can’t erase. Final Chorus — The Truth Breaking Through Everywhere I go, they know my name, And now I feel the memories bleed in. I’m a stranger waking in my own remains, Living every life I tried to leave within. Close my eyes and I disappear, Maybe I’m returning home — Or maybe I was never here. Outro — The Cliffhanger Close my eyes for a minute… And I hear a voice behind me say: “Welcome back. We’ve been waiting.”
