Cinis Pueri - The Ashes of the Hamlet (v0.4)
[Instrumental - no vocals, no singing] [0:00-0:30 ambient ruins - wind through ruins, burnt wood crackling embers close, faint sub drone very low, the hamlet still smoking] [0:30 solo music box begins - a tiny fragile tinny lullaby, innocent and sweet, playing alone among the ashes, sparse and clear] [0:30-1:30 the music box plays its little tune looping gently, embers crackling around it, a microtonal dissonance creeping underneath barely noticeable] [1:30-2:15 solo cello enters weeping slow long bowed notes underneath, no melody, the music box continues but begins to slow and warp slightly] [2:15-3:00 the music box winds down wrong - notes drift in pitch, slowing, the sweet tune becoming unsettling, dissonance grows, distant detuned bell tolls once] [3:00-3:30 the music box stumbles, notes faltering, almost stopping, a few last wrong notes] [Final 30s outro - music box stops, cello fades, only dying embers and wind remain, single detuned bell, silence]
