Verse 1 It’s not by might or human strength That we can stand the test. It’s by the power of your hand That we are truly blessed. You send your spirit like a rain Upon a thirsty land, To wash away the pride and stain, And help us understand. Chorus Let love and joy and peace take root, And patience grow within. Let kindness be the holy fruit That triumphs over sin. With goodness, faith, and mildness too, And self-control each day, We show the world we belong to you, In everything we say. Verse 2 The world is harsh and full of hate, But we will choose the light. We will not let the heart grow hard Or give in to the fight. We put the old ways far away, The selfish paths of old, And put the new man on today, In patterns you have told. Chorus Let love and joy and peace take root, And patience grow within. Let kindness be the holy fruit That triumphs over sin. With goodness, faith, and mildness too, And self-control each day, We show the world we belong to you, In everything we say. Verse 3 Reflecting Christ in all we do, As followers of your Son, We seek to give the praise to you Until the work is done. Your active force will guide our way And keep our footsteps sure, To live for you in every way, With motives clean and pure. Bridge Transform our minds, renew our hearts, By your own active force. Until the darkness all departs, And we have finished the course. Final Chorus Let love and joy and peace take root, And patience grow within. Let kindness be the holy fruit That triumphs over sin. Reflecting Christ in all we do, A people set apart. We give the glory back to you, With all our mind and heart.
