[Intro] Run child Run child Do not stop Do not look back The hallway ends The footsteps close There's only one door Nobody knows [Verse 1] We ran past every classroom We ran past every sign The lights were dying overhead The footsteps close behind We saw a door ahead We thought that we were safe We threw it open desperately And stumbled through the frame [Pre-Chorus] Close the door Hold it tight Maybe we can Last the night She's outside She's almost here Then suddenly She disappears [Chorus] False exit door We ran into the wrong room False exit door There's something living here too False exit door The teacher will not come inside False exit door But something else is waiting on the other side False exit door We thought that we had won False exit door The chase was only just begun False exit door Nobody told us where we were False exit door We should have never opened her door [Verse 2] The footsteps reach the doorway Then suddenly they stop We hear her breathing outside But she does not enter No pounding on the door No shouting through the hall The teacher simply stands there Like she's afraid at all We look across the room And see the name above the bed Alice We freeze in silence And wish that we had fled [Pre-Chorus] Do not move Do not speak Something here Is watching me She won't come She won't cross Now we know What we have lost [Chorus] False exit door We ran into the wrong room False exit door There's something living here too False exit door The teacher will not come inside False exit door But something else is waiting on the other side False exit door We thought that we had won False exit door The chase was only just begun False exit door Nobody told us where we were False exit door We should have never opened her door [Bridge] The hallway stays silent The teacher waits outside She looks toward the doorway Then slowly steps aside No warning No command No punishment No threat She leaves us here alone And somehow that's much worse Because if she won't enter What is keeping her away? [Break] Do not open it Do not leave Do not look at her Do not breathe The door is locked The hallway's clear So why do I hear footsteps Coming from upstairs? [Final Chorus] False exit door We ran into the wrong room False exit door Now something's coming through False exit door The teacher never crossed the line False exit door And now I understand why False exit door There was nowhere left to run False exit door We traded one hunt for another one False exit door Alice is waiting in the dark False exit door And we just woke up what was sleeping in her room [Outro] Run child Run child Do not stop Do not look back The teacher is gone The door is closed And something whispers Alice is home
