It’s time to listen—time to move. --- [**Verse 1**] She sits by the bridge, worn boots and a canvas sack, Eyes like the ocean, but her world’s been black. Dreams packed in a cart, her hands tell the tale, Knuckles scarred from a system that set her to fail. The cold bites deep, but her heart’s still blazing, A fighter’s soul in a world that’s degrading. She knits warmth for others from scraps she found, Sharing hope in a place where love ain't renowned. --- [**Chorus** - *Sung with group harmonies, warm and melodic*] *“We are the streets, we are the sound, Through the cracks of the city, we rise from the ground. Hands in the dirt, hearts in the fight, We’re the hope in the shadow, the fire in the night.”* --- [**Verse 2**] He stands on the corner, plaid shirt and torn jeans, Selling sketches of a city that’s stolen his dreams. Each line’s a monument, each shade a prayer, For the people that pass like he’s not even there. A little boy stops, tugs his mom by the hand, "Why’s he out here, Mom? Doesn’t he understand?" And he smiles, "Kid, I’m an artist. This is my stage. Life gave me pain, but I flipped the page.” He once held a job, had a crib, had a plan, Now his family’s a memory, his art’s what he can. Yet his spirit won’t break, though the world tries to bury, He’s a phoenix, rising, his soul legendary. --- [**Chorus** - *Repeat with fuller harmonies, trumpets building*] *“We are the streets, we are the sound, Through the cracks of the city, we rise from the ground. Hands in the dirt, hearts in the fight, We’re the hope in the shadow, the fire in the night.”* --- [**Verse 3**] Behind the shelter’s fence, an elder hums tunes, Eyes wrinkled like maps, scars shaped like wounds. His voice tells the tale of the years he’s roamed, Of lands he’s walked, and the place he’s called home. He cooks meals for the young, teaches songs to the lost, A beacon of warmth, no matter the cost. “Don’t pity me, son,” he laughs through the pain, “Life’s storms hit hard, but the roots still remain.” He built a garden with cans and a rusted spade, Greens rising from rubble, hope never delayed. His wrinkled hands nurture where concrete divides, A reminder that growth can bloom where love resides. --- [**Bridge**] *Melodic guitar solo over a quiet beat, voices hum the chorus tune in the background.* From the alleys to the avenues, hear their calls, Through the cracks in the walls, humanity crawls. No names, just faces, stories untold, Of grit, of pride, of hearts of gold. --- [**Final Chorus** - *With all instruments and harmonies at full power*] *“We are the streets, we are the sound, Through the cracks of the city, we rise from the ground. Hands in the dirt, hearts in the fight, We’re the hope in the shadow, the fire in the night.”* --- [**Outro**] *Trumpet fades into silence.* Let’s build a world where no one’s alone. Solidarity in action—make it known.
