V4.5

You are on the other side
and I am on mine
as we work away on our whims

No idea what is goin on in your head
you are in no mood to share...

[verse 2]
So instead I sit on over here
and work away on a solitary song
in a musical genre
that has caught my fancy

it fits my mood
somber but hopeful
A lot to do
As I contemplate the space
from here to you

We were miles apart
and now it's mere feet

But I think you thought all problems would be solved
when we occupied the same side of the same street.

[musical interlude]

[pre-chorus]

It doesn't work that way
at least not in my experience
Sumthin about how what's no trouble to me
is a big time mess to you...

[chorus]
That pile of laundry I ain't folded
those dishes I ain't done yet
side lined for things more passionate
you were there
what exactly do you think I was goin to do?

Jump out of bed in the middle of night and do the laundry?
do up the dishes and put them all away?

Or do I get to curl up with you after you told me
to lay down with you that way...

[epic solo]

[verse 3]

You can't have it every way
I do have my house
my money earned
my fame
but it came with my age
life experience
some of my health
and yeah, my exuberance

I did make you dinner
I did make love with you

And that young whipper snapper
for right now
will have to do..

will have to do

it will have to do...

[Outro]

Cougars come at a price
some boot ya when they used ya
some love ya but are not for ya

and then there are those like me
that come with history
resolve, and mystery

It's up to you to stay for the last act or not
only you can decide if the rest of the rare what we got
is all that or not

It's up to you

up to you

it will have to do...

it will have to do...
[epic musical outro]
