A Christmas Beat Down [STORY]

V3.5

Once upon a California day, I visited a friend, a hotel i stayed He got grounded, a bit of a plight, But he called on me, a sight to hold tight. With a plane ticket, I made my way, But life's surprises took a different sway. Arriving at the hotel, a peculiar display, His friends gathered in anger, a disarray. I was there for only a day or two, Only saw my friend once, tensions grew Blamed me for his getting into trouble His endless lies that landed him in this bubble So he send his friends, who was spoiled and dumb Said revenge he wished And threatened to come But I feared not and turned on the tv Knowing gmy rights was far too easy Their yells echoed, like a battle cry, But I sipped my water, a calm reply. The door they tried to break, a futile fight, Kids noticing the open window in sight. Their hands beat the door, loud and fierce, While I took another sip, the quiet is pierced. They tried smashing and kicking in the metal door, All the while I sat, listening to their cry of war. They cussed at me, loud and clear, But I ignored their screams, unperturbed and dear. For my attention was focused on the cartoon before me It was more interesting to me even though corny They cursed and shouted, their words harsh and unkind, But I just continued sipping, calm like a mind. The sun was beaming, warming the air, While their anger grew, their efforts in despair. I sat sipping and watched the movie play, As they banged and cursed, their efforts in vain that day. They never noticed the window wide, As they focused on the door, their stupidity abided. They yelled though the window perhaps ten times, Never once did it cross their minds to use it In their crimes, Too focused on the door, a useless endeavor. I figured out long ago they were not very clever. A bunch of whiny spoiled kids, Yelling and banging like little pigs. Ignoring the open window, Too busy throwing a fit at the door, like mindless insects. After a while I told them to keep it down As they were making themselves look like clowns They tired out and swore they would be back I shrugged my shoulders and picked up my sack. I was leaving in a few hours anyway Going back to St.Louis on my merry way Had a smile as I punched in for my flight Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night
