Let Us Pray for This World

My God... Today I do not come to pray only for myself. Today I raise my voice for those who have no strength left, for those who cry in silence, for those no one wants to hear. Let us pray for this world. [Verse 1] For the child who sleeps in fear while the night begins to shake, for the mother holding all her children, not knowing where they will awake. For the homes that now stand empty, for those forced to leave their land, for the names erased by warfare we must never let be forgotten. For the ones who walk in silence, carrying pain they cannot explain, for those asking for one open hand and finding doors closed once again. [Pre-Chorus, building] If there is still a light inside every human heart, ignite it tonight, Lord. Do not let the darkness tear it apart. [Chorus, powerful] Let us pray for this world, for the peace we failed to defend. For the hearts that turned to stone, may they learn how to love again. Let us pray for all who suffer, for those who lost their strength and faith. May no one ever feel forgotten. May someone say, “I will stay.” My God, listen to our voices. Do not let the darkness win. Let us pray for this world... and let the change begin with us. [Verse 2] For the table without food, for the sick still waiting to heal, for the old man watching the doorway, knowing no one may appear. For the nations divided by hatred, for the words that wound and destroy, for those who judge without ever knowing what another had to survive. For the ones who lost their hope, for those afraid to dream again, for the ones who need to be heard but find only loneliness instead. [Pre-Chorus] Teach us how to see each other as family, not as enemies. Because the world needs no more walls. It needs humanity. [Chorus, stronger] Let us pray for this world, for the peace we failed to defend. [Bridge, intimate, then building] But we do not want to ask You, Lord, to do alone what is also ours to do. Teach us to share our bread. To listen before we judge. To reach out a hand even when no one is watching. To defend the weak. To care for the sick. To stay beside the lonely. To never answer hatred with more hatred. Make our hands instruments of peace. Make our voices a refuge for those who cannot speak. And when fear tries to divide us, remind us that every life has value. [Instrumental rise and choir] Let this prayer not end when we say “Amen.” Let it become courage. Let it become justice. Let it become compassion. [Final Chorus, powerful, full choir] Let us pray for this world, for every nation, every home. For the children who deserve a future where they are never taught to hate. Let us pray for all who suffer, for the ones no one wants to see. May one small act of kindness become the start of something greater. My God, turn all of our tears into courage, hope, and love. Because praying for this world will never be enough... we must also give it the best within our hearts. Let us pray for this world. For life. For peace. For forgiveness. And when our prayer is over... help us rise and turn our prayer into action. [Outro, soft piano and choir] Let there be bread where there is hunger. Let there be company where there is loneliness. Let there be comfort where there is pain. Let there be light where everything seems dark. And let it begin within us... the peace we ask for in this world. Amen.
