[Verse 1] The sun is burning but it never rests The rivers run yet they never crest I build my towers they crumble down All is vapor nothing's sound [Chorus] Chasing the wind chasing the wind Grasping shadows where to begin Under the sun all fades to dust Chasing the wind chasing the wind [Verse 2] I sought wisdom but found despair Laughter's hollow its face laid bare Pleasures vanish like morning mist The taste of joy a fleeting kiss [Prechorus] What has been will always be The endless cycle swallowing me [Chorus] Chasing the wind chasing the wind Grasping shadows where to begin Under the sun all fades to dust Chasing the wind chasing the wind [Bridge] To everything a season calls A time to rise a time to fall What gain is there for all our toil We’re buried deep beneath the soil
