[Verse] In a land of prophetic richness Old scrolls sang of a king to come Stars in the night painted a picture Of a new world now begun [Verse 2] Angels sang in the skies above Shepherds watched and wise men came Peace on earth and boundless love A tender heart in an earthly frame [Chorus] History cut right down the middle From that manger Light did rise A new day broke our fears to battle Now In His name We scan the skies [Verse 3] Teaching love and healing hands He showed the way with word and deed Walked the dusty Galilean lands Planted faith like mustard seeds [Bridge] Death on the cross but not the end He rose again our hope to mend Now we build His kingdom strong Till He returns We sing this song [Chorus] History cut right down the middle From that manger Light did rise A new day broke our fears to battle Now In His name We scan the skies
