VERSE 1 She looks like a little kitten when you first meet her. Sweet face, innocent eyes, and that look that makes you think she’s harmless. But don’t let that fool you. There’s a tiger underneath that pretty exterior, and you’d better know what you’re dealing with. She’s already got the answer before you’ve finished asking the question. Sometimes I think she knows what I’m going to say before I even know it myself. That’s Lucy. VERSE 2 She’s got a mind of her own, and she’s not afraid to use it. She knows what she thinks, and she doesn’t need anyone to tell her how to live. She can be sweet, she can be stubborn, and sometimes I wonder how such a small woman can have so much fire inside her. There’s a strength in her that I admire. She’s not someone who simply follows the crowd. She’s her own person, and that’s exactly what makes her special. CHORUS I’ve got Lucy on my mind. When I wake up in the morning, she’s there. When the day gets quiet, I find myself thinking about her again. There’s something about this woman that brings me peace. Something I can’t quite explain. Maybe it’s the way she talks. Maybe it’s the things she tells me. Maybe it’s the person I have come to know. Whatever it is, Lucy has found a place in my thoughts that nobody else occupies in quite the same way. VERSE 3 Four hours and twenty minutes. That’s the time she gave me, and I wanted to use every minute to understand her better. And I did. She talks a lot, and I mean a lot. But the funny thing is, I remember so much of what she says. Her stories stay with me. Her opinions make me think. And sometimes I catch myself smiling about something she told me hours earlier. That’s what happens when somebody becomes important to you. You start noticing the little things. CHORUS I’ve got Lucy on my mind. That little kitten with the tiger hiding underneath. That woman who always seems to have an answer ready. She can surprise me, challenge me, and make me laugh. And somehow, even with all that fire in her, she brings me a feeling of calm. I don’t know exactly how to explain it. I just know that she means something special to me. BRIDGE Sometimes I wonder if certain people come into our lives for a reason. Maybe it’s coincidence. Maybe it’s something we will never understand. There are moments when this connection feels almost spiritual to me, as if God knew I needed to meet someone like her. I don’t need to prove what it is. I don’t need to give it a name. I can simply appreciate what I feel. And I can hope that Lucy knows how much I admire the woman she is. VERSE 4 Of course I worry about you and the children. I wish I could do more when I know someone I care about is facing difficulties. But there are limits to what I can do from where I am. So I tell you to be careful. To look after yourself. To remember that you don’t always have to be strong for everybody else. Even a tiger needs to rest sometimes. And even the strongest woman deserves somebody who genuinely wishes her well. FINAL CHORUS I’ve got Lucy on my mind. Not because she’s perfect. Nobody is. But because she’s Lucy. The clever woman who thinks ahead. The little kitten with the tiger’s spirit. The person whose words stay with me long after our conversation ends. And when I think about her, I feel that same quiet warmth again. My little tiger. Keep your strength. Keep your fire. Keep being yourself. I’ve got Lucy on my mind.
