Silence, Sons and Sins

V5.5

I saw a little boy today... running through the dirt... scraped knees... wild dreams... and a world he still believed seems. He didn't know... that one day somebody would tell him to be ashamed of the very things that make a man pray. They told him his strength was dangerous. His confidence was arrogance. His silence was weakness. His opinion was a problem and sickness. And before he was old enough to shave... he learned that being a man was something he needed not to praise but to apologize for. So he stopped talking. Stopped asking for help. Stopped telling people what kept him awake at night. And the world mistook his silence for strength and fight. But men don't always break loudly. They don't always stand on rooftops begging to be seen or rowdy. They don't scream. They don't yell. Sometimes... they just disappear without a tell. Another empty chair at Christmas. Another phone number that nobody answers and miss. Another mother staring at a photograph. Another brother wondering what he missed like a laugh. Another friend saying... "I never knew he was struggling." Because the suicide notes of men are often the final chapters of chuckling of stories nobody bothered to read. We are not statistics. Not headlines. Not villains. Not scapegoats. We are fathers. We are sons. We are brothers. We are husbands. We are the men holding the walls up while pretending they aren't falling but ascending. And every time a man is told to man up... to toughen up... to stop feeling... another brick gets added to a prison he never built while saddened. The truth is... most men don't need saving. They need listening. They need friendship. They need purpose. They need somebody to notice when the smile stops reaching the eyes. So check on your strong friends, it's not lies. The quiet ones. The hard-working ones. The men who always say "I'm fine." Especially those ones. The men who carry everyone else without a moan while carrying their own storm alone. Because one day the world may wake up and realize the men it ignored are no longer afford. And by then... the silence will be louder than any words. This is for the fathers. The sons. The brothers. The friends. The forgotten men. And for every man still fighting battles nobody can see, no more rattles. Stay. Your story isn't over yet. Songs for the bruised, not the perfect. — Pinoks Vibes 🎤🍻 :::
