“Gravity Holds Me Where I Am Now”

Feel the chair beneath your bones Feel the floor below your feet Gravity has always known How to gather what you keep No need holding quite so high No need lifting through the day The earth has held you all this time Even when you pulled away The deeper brain is listening To pressure, weight, and space The body starts remembering This is a supported place Gravity holds me here Weight dropping down through the air Pelvis, shoulders, jaw release The earth beneath receiving me I am here I am found The body settles downward now Breath and heartbeat moving slow The nervous system starts to know Feel the ribs begin to move Feel the thighs release below Ancient circuits slowly soothe As the body starts to know Downward through the legs and spine Through the places braced so long The ground receives this life of mine Like I have always belonged Before words Before fear Before story The body knew where it was Before language Before shame The mammal learned the pull of earth Gravity holds me here Weight dropping down through the air Eyes soft back and breathing free The world beneath supporting me I am here I am known No longer carrying alone The deeper self begins to land Supported by the earth again Feel the body dropping down Feel the room begin to form Space around and ground below This is where you are right now Gravity holds Gravity knows The earth beneath Will not let go
