When impulse cannot be restrained When patience breaks and heart is stained When all I hear is ‘I can’t carry on like this’ When ones who speak are media-killed When ones who don’t, had silently drilled Soul’s tomb in their fragile womb When I don’t care if there is a rhyme When nothing can make me smile When poetry becomes a cry What should I do? Believe in you? When your cross is their burning flag When people’s hearts they use and drag Into this war of faith, oh, so false faith! When reasoning became a wraith What should I do? Believe in you? Hanging on ropes Translucent hopes blow out like bubbles of a soap made out of other humans’ flesh. What should I learn?... Then, teach me, please, how to love lies hatred cruelty stupidity hypocrisy jealousy pretense heartlessness barbarism brutalism insolence ingratitude intolerance integrity-not fear … or better, don’t!) Stop teaching and give me your indestructible love all-melting fusion power the incomprehensible wisdom and purity of mind. Embrace me in your kindness and heal my wounded eyes.
