Heading Down South

**[Verse 1]** I’ve got a man down in Tennessee And I tell you that the guy’s only got eyes for me He’s working that denim, leaning on the truck And every other girl is just fresh out of luck **[Pre-Chorus 1]** My heart starts a-thumpin' like a subwoofer bass Just thinkin' 'bout the look on his handsome face He's got the perfect rhythm and a real slow drawl And I'm about to lose my mind once and for all **[Chorus]** 'Cause he's quick with his wit and just as sweet as can be Yeah, I’m mighty damn close to climbing his tree Hold onto your hats, boys, clear out the way 'Cause I’m heading down south and I’m aiming to stay **[Verse 2]** He sends me a text with a little wink emoji Saying "Honey, come on down, it's getting kind of lonely" He talks with a twang that makes my knees go weak Got me blushing red from my forehead to my cheek **[Pre-Chorus 2]** The temperature is rising and the engine is hot I'm throwing all my caution right out of the lot I packed my favorite boots and a low-cut shirt And I'm heading past the border just to do a little flirt **[Chorus]** 'Cause he's quick with his wit and just as sweet as can be Yeah, I’m mighty damn close to climbing his tree Hold onto your hats, boys, clear out the way 'Cause I’m heading down south and I’m aiming to stay **[Bridge]** [Instrumental Break - Fast Fiddle and Banjo Solo] Now, mama always told me "Don't you rush into love" But mama never saw what this boy is made of He's a whole lot of sugar and a little bit of spice And tasting that honey would be mighty nice **[Chorus]** 'Cause he's quick with his wit and just as sweet as can be Yeah, I’m mighty damn close to climbing his tree Hold onto your hats, boys, clear out the way 'Cause I’m heading down south and I’m aiming to stay **[Outro]** Yeah, climbing that tree... Watch out, Tennessee! [Laughs] [Big country finish with a drum hit]
