[verse1] We passed through the veil On the ship of light Once we hit the shore It disappeared from our sight [verse2] You think we finally made it home Christopher asked us No Shane answered We've never had birds [Bridge] That's when I heard one tweeting And saw one fly by What about the tree I asked No and I don't know why [Chorus] System failure eminent All the wires are crossed Magnification of mischief All the way across The land is now unstable We need a new scene We went way too far backwards And lost the connection to the dream [verse3] I don't see the swamp Shane said This land is completely different I'm starting to feel dread [verse4] I feel something too Christopher advised There's something here about me Something I need to realize [Bridge] We stopped at the tree That in our time was a stump That's just an apple tree I said as I touched the trunk [Chorus] System failure eminent All the wires are crossed Magnification of mischief All the way across The land is now unstable We need a new scene We went way too far backwards And lost the connection to the dream [verse5] Christopher touched it next And the tree began to glow An emanation of radiance We really should just go [verse6] This tree has a name Christopher began to say Chryso is what I hear It's alive on this day [verse7] I'm still feeling dread Shane said again I'm ready to go Just as soon as you can [Bridge] Now why would someone chop this down Christopher asked next Are we really in a time before Or are we in a reset? [Chorus] System failure eminent All the wires are crossed Magnification of mischief All the way across The land is now unstable We need a new scene We went way too far backwards And lost the connection to the dream [verse7] Two young men approached us They said what are you doing here There's a barrier around this place You're not supposed to be here [verse8] What are your common names Shane asked as he stood up straight I am called Phil I am called Ato [Bridge] Someday this will be my land But right now I concede it's yours Our intention was to go home Not To tread on your shore [Chorus] System failure eminent All the wires are crossed Magnification of mischief All the way across The land is not yet his But we can change the scene No longer going backwards And reconnect to the dream [Outro] We also have another problem Christopher began relay I am actually this tree On this very day That matters not to us Shane said with authority We need to respect their boundary And we need to leave It's okay Ato said You have lost your way There's no kind of punishment Just for going astray You then planted this tree Christopher asked of them It's a tree of immortality Also where I begin It actually can't do anything Phil began to tell them It is barren of any fruit It's wasted on this land It can give you fruit Christopher then said You have to ask it for it But those apples are not red Christopher grabbed Shane's arm I instinctively grabbed his Christopher then touched the tree And we had gone adrift
