~ Through The Same Eyes ~ 🧑 The sirens faded in the autumn rain That was the night the world went still and gray You held a piece of glass that tore your hands apart While I stood outside, shattered by the exact same pain We both watched the light leave her eyes for good And drowned in the silence where she stood 🧑 Don't ask me why I stayed around so long When every breath we took felt like a borrowed song We weren't just two strangers caught in the dark We were two halves of a breaking heart 🧑 We built a bridge out of the tears we cried Trying to keep her ghost here by our side I was the face that made the memories clear You were the arms that kept her absence near And all this time, beneath the gentle touch We loved a phantom way too much 👩 We grew close because we shared the selfsame grief Two hearts that first drew breath beneath one roof She was your lover, wrapped in all your dreams And she was my first, born beside me We entered this world together, side by side Two little lives beneath the very same first cry We didn't plan to fall into this quiet space Just two survivors staring at the same goodbye 🧑 I looked at your eyes and saw her looking back 👩 I let you use me to mend what you lacked 🧑 It was a cruel way to keep her memory warm 👩 Walking together right into the storm 🧑 I’m sorry... 👩 I’m tired... 🧑👩 We kept the fire burning for a ghost we couldn't leave behind 🧑 Go on and walk away into the morning light 👩 I’ll finally step out of her shadow tonight 🧑 I let her go, so you can finally be free 👩 And I’ll find a version of the world that's meant for me 🧑Goodbye to the mirror that we lived inside It’s time to stop hiding where she used to hide... No more ghosts. Just us. Letting go. 👩 "Maybe we found each other in the wrong place..." "but what we felt was real." "You were looking for her." "I was looking for home." Now we can both let go. ❤️🩹 © 2026 Ommy | All Rights Reserved. Original song concept and lyrics by Ommy.
