Rusted Tailgate

[Verse 1] Sunburn on my nose Dust on my boots Cool one in the cooler Backseat full of roots You rolled up laughing In your old blue jean Said pass one over And keep it clean [Pre-Chorus] We don't need much Just a rusted tailgate Ice in a bucket And a song that can wait You tilt that bottle Like you know my name And suddenly this night Ain't ever gonna tame [Chorus] Beer in my hand Your hand in mine (Beer in my hand) We keep it simple We keep it fine Bottoms up, baby Let the long day go Beer in my hand And I don't need more [Verse 2] Screen door open Dogs in the yard Ketchup on the paper plate Nothing fancy, nothing hard Your laugh hits the porch rail Like a runaway train I take one sip slow Then you start again [Pre-Chorus] We don't need much Just a rusted tailgate Ice in a bucket And a song that can wait You tilt that bottle Like you know my name And suddenly this night Ain't ever gonna tame [Chorus] Beer in my hand Your hand in mine (Beer in my hand) We keep it simple We keep it fine Bottoms up, baby Let the long day go Beer in my hand And I don't need more [Bridge] Let the moon hang low Let the creek roll by Let the hard stuff fall Like a cloud from the sky One more round One more smile from you One more reason For this memory to stay true [Chorus] Beer in my hand Your hand in mine (Beer in my hand) We keep it simple We keep it fine Bottoms up, baby Let the long day go Beer in my hand And I don't need more
