I Will Carry You Too

When friends become accusers, And truth is hard to prove, When every word is questioned, And love no longer moves, Remember faithful Job, Who stood though none believed. His heart was known in heaven, Though earth was quick to leave. "I know this road is painful. Don't think that I've let go. Others have walked through darker nights, And still I've brought them home." I carried Job through sorrow, When all the world withdrew. I carried Joseph's broken dreams Until they all came true. I carried Nephi through the storm, When faith was all he knew. I've carried saints through every age... And I will carry you. Joseph wore chains in Egypt, Yet Heaven shaped the years. What others meant for evil Became redemption's tears. No prison stopped My purpose, No brother changed My plan. The path looked filled with heartbreak— I held it in My hand. "I know this road is painful. Don't think that I've let go. Others have walked through darker nights, And still I've brought them home." I strengthened Nephi's courage When oceans filled his view. I walked beside young David Before the giant knew. I met with Paul in prison Where songs broke through the night. The chains could bind their bodies, But never stop My light. I've never changed. I'm still the God Who parts impossible seas. What I have done For those before, I'll surely do for thee. I carried Job through suffering, Though friends misunderstood. I carried Joseph faithfully, And turned it all for good. I strengthened Nephi's faithful hands, When no one else could see. I've carried saints through every age... Now let Me carry thee. I know this road is painful. Don't think that I've let go. Others have walked through darker nights, And still I've brought them home. When doors are closed before you, I'll open others new. The hands that held the faithful then Are reaching now for you. So trust the path before you— Though you can't always see. The God who never left them, Will never leave thee.
