[Intro — heavy guitar riff] [Verse 1] She’s counting change in the checkout line Milk and bread, but she’s a dollar shy Her little boy keeps tugging at her sleeve She says, “We’ll get the rest next week” I check the clock, You see her face A tired mother trying to make her way Lord, I have more than I can use And one small chance to love like You [Pre-Chorus] I’ve sung Your name with my hands held high Then hurried past the tears in someone’s eyes Forgive the love I only sing Teach these hands what mercy means [Chorus] Jesus, don’t let me walk by Give me Your heart, give me Your eyes For the one who hurts, for the one unseen For the one who needs Your love through me Slow my feet, open my hands Teach me to love when it changes my plans Let Your love interrupt my life Jesus, don’t let me walk by [Verse 2] There’s a man in a hospital bed With a thousand fears he hasn’t said His phone stays quiet on the chair He wonders if somebody cares Give me courage to walk inside To hold his hand and stay awhile To hear the hurt behind “I’m fine” And let Your love take up my time [Pre-Chorus 2] You saw the ones we pushed aside You knew the hurt they tried to hide The mercy You have shown to me Was never mine alone to keep [Chorus] Jesus, don’t let me walk by Give me Your heart, give me Your eyes For the one who hurts, for the one unseen For the one who needs Your love through me Slow my feet, open my hands Teach me to love when it changes my plans Let Your love interrupt my life Jesus, don’t let me walk by [Bridge — quiet, then building] For the mother at the checkout For the man behind that door Let me give the time I’m saving Let me give a little more If it costs me my comfort If the need won’t end today Let me love beyond this moment Let me come back anyway [Breakdown — melodic, strained singing] Here are my hands Here is my time [Final Chorus — full band] Jesus, don’t let me walk by Give me Your heart, give me Your eyes For the one who hurts, for the one unseen For the one who needs Your love through me Slow my feet, open my hands Teach me to love when it changes my plans Let Your love interrupt my life When You call, I won’t walk by [Outro] Give me Your heart Give me Your eyes Here are my hands Here is my time
