To Find Our Way Acoustic singer-songwriter — intimate, melancholic, contemplative · D – C – G Ambient rain intro · warm, lively fretless electric bass forward in the mix [Intro] [sound of soft ambient rain, then fingerpicked acoustic guitar D–C–G, a warm melodic fretless electric bass slides in underneath] [Verse 1] [soft, intimate male vocals enter] We walked home to find our way This night alone And we’re not friends [Chorus] But if we’re there when it rains then you will come to realize that in this space of holy dreams your only home’s a memory [Verse 2] We crossed the bridge where we began With nothing left to understand And all we were ran down like rain Into the dark and back again [Chorus] But if we’re there when it rains then you will come to realize that in this space of holy dreams your only home’s a memory [Bridge] [melody lifts, fretless bass climbing, guitar opening up] And maybe home was never walls or someone’s name we used to call Maybe home’s the rain that stays the way it falls on those who lost their way So we’ll find our way We’ll find our way [Final Chorus] [fuller now, but still tender] And if we’re there when it rains then we will come to realize that in this space of holy dreams our only home’s not just a memory [Outro] [guitar and fretless bass settle back, the rain returns, slow fade] We walked home… to find our way to find our way
