FRANKENSTEIN

[Start] [Instrumental Intro] [Spoken Intro] Midnight at the old castle… Lightning rolling across the hills. Somebody plugged a guitar into the wall. And somebody… Forgot to tell the dead to stay dead. [Verse 1] Down beneath the castle tower, Where the midnight shadows crawl, There’s a monster in a leather vest Standing seven feet tall. Got a scar across his forehead, Got a bolt on either side, And a red-striped electric guitar That makes the dead come alive. He threw a switch at midnight, And the amplifiers screamed. Every coffin in the graveyard Started shaking at the seams! [Pre-Chorus] Thunder rolled across the mountain, Lightning split the midnight sky. He struck one chord upon that guitar… AND THE DEAD BEGAN TO RISE! [Chorus] FRANKENSTEIN! PLAY THAT GUITAR, MAKE IT SCREAM! FRANKENSTEIN! WAKE THE DEAD FROM EVERY DREAM! Got a hundred thousand volts, Got the thunder in his veins! When that monster starts a-playing, Ain’t a soul gonna stay in the grave! FRANKENSTEIN! LET THAT GUITAR RING! [Electric Guitar Solo] [Verse 2] Got a skeleton on the bass, With a top hat and a grin, Got a mummy on the drum kit Beating thunder through his skin. There’s a werewolf on the rhythm, With a six-string tuned down low, And a witch behind the Hammond Making haunted Leslie speakers growl. Every window in the castle Started rattling in its frame. Then the ghosts came through the ceiling, Singing out the monster’s name! [Pre-Chorus] The moon turned green above the tower, The graveyard gates swung open wide. And a thousand dancing shadows Came pouring out into the night! [Instrumental] [Verse 3] Now the vampires took the front row, And the zombies filled the floor. A headless man came stumbling in, Yelling, “TURN IT UP SOME MORE!” The Grim Reaper dropped his sickle, Started dancing with a ghost, While the monster bent a screaming note And shook the castle to its stones. Then the clock struck half past midnight, And the lightning hit the spire. Frankenstein just smiled and said, “BOYS, LET’S TAKE THIS THING UP HIGHER!” [Electric Guitar Solo] [Bridge] [Spoken] The doctor came running down the stairs… Said, “MONSTER! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!” Frankenstein looked at his guitar… Looked at the crowd… And said… “DOC… I AIN’T EVEN STARTED YET!” [Final Chorus] FRANKENSTEIN! THE DEAD ARE ROCKING TONIGHT! FRANKENSTEIN! KEEP THAT GUITAR BURNING BRIGHT! [Outro] [Spoken] Morning came across the castle… The doctor opened up the door. The graveyard had gone quiet… But down beneath the tower… Somebody was still playing. [Hard Stop] [End]
