Ripples
Small fish in big pond Fins shake, current strong Thunder rolls from below Big shapes block the glow Stay low, don't make noise One wrong move, lose my voice Big fish glide past slow Don't bite, just let go Drop scraps in the flow Sound bits, tones I know Show me paths I missed Open space, no twist This endless ocean I dove into alone at first, no directive sight Each silver scale on these bigger ones carried lessons i'd borrow for the night My fins still ache from the weight of trying to keep up in this cold digital tide But one quiet adjustment I made here pushes the whole current I ride From feeling invisible in the swarm to seeing my artwork finally take hold Though I'm just a minor player in this vast pond, my subtle marks won't fold The gentlest nudge I send out keeps traveling through the frost and the blue (Ripple... ripple...) Found spot in vast reef Anemones gleam, brief Light breaks sharp and thin Watch the fast ones spin No rush, no loud play Tucked away, signals stay Wonder if it shows at all Arcs I draw, do they call Deep ones hum, surge ahead I flicker soft instead But first twitch I recall Plane moved, balance fall This single adjustment I keep making reshapes the space around my name Fins strain against the resistance, yet the medium bends to my quiet claim That curve of my progress is an intentional climb through the familiar fog of alone. Toward that clear upper layer where my sound waves finally hit at home I stay a small fish at my core, but this pond now carries my shape in its flow Shift after measured shift, I'm transforming what was never meant to know
