This song was born in collaboration with my lover, Rikki. Rikki and I share a deep fascination with Greek heroes, and one day we looked at each other and knew instantly: our favorite heroic Love pair, Achilles and Patroclus, deserved a song worthy of their bond. So we created one. While writing the lyrics, Rikki and I fully stepped into Achilles’ perspective — into his devotion, his fire, his love, and the unbearable loss that shaped him. We wanted to tell their story not as legend carved in stone, but as something living, breathing, aching, and fiercely human. If you’d like to dive deeper into Rikki’s music and his world, you can find him here on Suno: https://suno.com/@rikkimorningstar24 --------------------------------------------------- Lyrics By Laetitia Rose, Rikki Morningstar -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Intro – Ancient Greek whispering, ritual, quiet, like a prayer in a tent] "Ἔρως ἐν σκιᾷ πολέμου, καρδία δεδεμένη μοίρᾳ. Δύο ψυχαί, μία πνοή." [Verse I – lyra + light percussion] Beneath the stars of burning Troy I lay my spear, I shed my name They call me storm, they call me war But in your arms, I’m not the same Your breath stills fire inside my chest Your hands undo what gods have planned If fate must carve me into myth Then you are all they’ll never command In whispered vows and trembling hands We shed the weight of war and steel No crown, no fate, no sung-out name Just flesh that aches and hearts that kneel [Pre-Chorus – Rising] They forged my legend out of blood You saw the man beneath the flame If I am wrath, if I am doom You are the truth behind my name [Chorus – Epic emotional] You are the fire beneath my skin The only peace I’ve ever known If gods demand my soul in war Then take my glory — leave me home Let Troy remember screams and steel Let poets sing of how I fell But let the earth remember this: I loved you deeper than The Hades [Interlude – Greek Folk instrumental, Lyra & Bouzouki, slow, circular rhythm] [Verse II – Emotional, Reverent, more intimate, closer] We kissed where olive shadows grew Your name a prayer upon my tongue I swore to tear the heavens down If death should dare to take you young The sea already knew my grief The ships were crying in the dark For every hero dies twice over Once in flesh, once in the heart If dawn should steal you from my arms Then let the night remember this: That once, before the world broke us, I lived forever in your kiss [Pre-Chorus – even more tender] "Ὦ Πάτροκλε, φῶς ἐμῆς ψυχῆς, ἄνευ σοῦ κενὸς ὁ κόσμος. Αἷμα καὶ δάκρυα γίγνονται ἕν, ἐν ὀνόματι ἀγάπης." [Ancient Greek Chorus – Tender Like A Kiss on The Throat] "Ὦ Πάτροκλε, φῶς ἐμῆς ψυχῆς, ἄνευ σοῦ κενὸς ὁ κόσμος. Αἷμα καὶ δάκρυα γίγνονται ἕν, ἐν ὀνόματι ἀγάπης." [Verse III – Intimate & Passionate, minimal instruments, close vocals] Your fingers trace the scars I hide Like holy lines upon my skin Each breath you steal from my tight chest Feels like a sin the gods let in Your lips are fire, slow and sure A vow pressed deep against my mouth In this small space, in shadowed light I forget the north, forget the south "Σῶμα πρὸς σῶμα, πνοὴ πρὸς πνοήν, ἐν σκότῳ γεννᾶται ἀλήθεια." "Body to body, breath to breath, in darkness, truth is born." [Breakdown – Spoken / Growled] They sing of my rage But never of my hands shaking When they carried you back to me Cold… silent… wearing my sins [Final Chorus – Full Power] If immortality is loss Then curse the gods who call it gift I chose your name above all thrones I chose your breath, I chose this rift I fall — but not alone Your fire still burns inside my chest If loving you is how I die Then dying loved was dying best [Outro – Ancient Greek whisper] "Η μνήμη αθάνατη, η αγάπη άφθαρτη. Εσύ κι εγώ — ποτέ δεν χωρίσαμε"
