From Sinai's peak, the first great truth took wing,
The sacred call, the Sheh-mah, that the faithful sing.
But look beneath the surface, when the study's done,
The Hebrew word is E-khad, a compound unity.
Like vine and branches woven, for all the world to see,
One God, one essence, undivided, ever whole,
Yet Father, Son, and Spirit, dwelling in the soul.
