[Verse 1] I wake to the door A body in the frame Hands on my blankets Calling out my name Two rebels at my side Cutting through the dark Undoing every knot Left in my wrists and heart [Pre-Chorus] They pull me from the bed My feet hit the floor I blink at the hallway And stumble to the door [Chorus] Where are we going Where are we going now Where are we going Down, down, down Down the stairway Down the stairway now Down the stairway To the sound below [Verse 2] We stop at the landing The steps breathe cold air I grip the rail tight Like it might keep me there I ask it again My voice still half asleep Where are we going Why is it so deep [Pre-Chorus] They don’t answer me Just lean and stare Something waits under us In the open air [Chorus] Where are we going Where are we going now Where are we going Down, down, down Down the stairway Down the stairway now Down the stairway To the sound below [Bridge] At the bottom I see him Zabulon in the dark Still as a blade With a fire for a heart And my breath goes thin As the whole room turns One more step and I know Nothing stays unburned [Final Chorus] Where are we going Where are we going now Where are we going Down, down, down Down the stairway Down the stairway now Down the stairway To Zabulon below
