What I Can See (Eros Vs Psyche)

V6

===== LYRICS ===== [Intro | solo piano, precise, metronomic | pizzicato strings entering] [Vocal: female, whispered, dry, clinical] Three-oh-seven. Seven weeks. I'm keeping count. [Verse 1 | piano and chamber strings, strict rhythm, no drums] [Vocal: female, clear, dry, clinical] You said maybe on Tuesday, then you laughed and looked away, I've logged the way you hold your keys, the things you'll never say, There's evidence for every hope and evidence against, I'll name it first, then feel it: that's the only sane defense. [Verse 2 | overdriven blues riff, live drums, warm round bass] [Vocal: male, hoarse, close, gravelly] Your breath on my neck, warm sheets, slow and low, your heartbeat, a knock, I don't need to know. [Pre-Chorus | the two styles trade bars, tension rising] [Vocal: female, clear, dry] There's a lamp beside the bed. One click would settle it. [Vocal: male, hoarse, low] Don't. It's fine. Just stay. [Vocal: female, clear, dry] I only want to see it. What's the harm in seeing it? [Vocal: male, hoarse, low] Seeing kills the dark. [Chorus 1 | strings swell, piano drives | guitar tries to break in and is pushed back] [Vocal: female, clear, rising] Turn on the lamp, let me see it all in a clean, clear light, let me see it all and name it, and then I'll know it's right. [Vocal: male, hoarse, urgent, cut off] Let me feel it now — let me — [Rupture | Instrumentation: everything collapses at once | glitched digital stutter, bit-crushed piano fragments, industrial guitar feedback, tom-heavy impacts with no groove | Energy: total sensory overload, no clear meter | 8-12 bars] [Vocal: both voices, fragmented, granular, chopped and overlapping, unintelligible as words — pure texture] (see— see— see it— feel— feel—) [Reassembly | Instrumentation: chamber strings and blues guitar motifs fade back in from underneath the wreckage, faint and out of sync at first, gradually locking together | Energy: chaos resolving into coherence | 4-8 bars] [Verse 3 | the two textures overlap unevenly] [Vocal: female, clear, bright and exposed] The light comes on and there's a scar, a tooth, a freckled face, [Vocal: male, small, hoarse] Too bright. Wrong place. [Vocal: female, clear, dry] and every detail is a fact, and facts are all I trust — [Vocal: female, thin, a beat too fast] what if it's just chemistry — dopamine, dark, and lust? [Bridge | everything cuts out | single piano note | near-silence] [Vocal: male, spoken, low, hurt] One thought. One drop. Hot on my skin. You wanted to see me — so I left. [Verse 4 | chamber only, cold, cracking | Corpo absent] [Vocal: female, alone, clinical, voice thinning] Item: a room, a lamp, a body breathing at my side, item: every fact I've gathered, a cold I can't abide, I know your every habit and I know your every fear, I have the whole of you on file, and nothing's warm in here. [voice cracking] Let me… what I can see. [Build | drums enter softly under the strings | blues guitar returns, restrained] [Vocal: female, steadier, warmer] I don't know what this is. I let it stay unnamed, I ask for help. I've never asked. It stings — I'm not ashamed, I go down to the fear and I don't count the floors, I hold the box, I leave it shut, and no one asks for more. [Final Chorus | Energy: Peak | full band and strings together | drums full, guitar and piano in the same key] [Vocal: female and male together, harmony, same line, unified] Let me feel what I can see, lamp turned low, and you with me, let me see what I can feel, none of it less true, less real. [Final Chorus – repeat, softer | strings and guitar sustained] [Vocal: female and male together, harmony, gentle] Let me feel what I can see. [Outro | piano and one clean guitar note, side by side | fade] [Vocal: female, whispered, soft] I don't know what time it is.
