The Ground We Swore Upon — Ember of Midgard — Nordic Folk Rock

### **[Verse 1 – Male Vocal]** The winter carved its warning Into every wooden door The hills were wrapped in silence Like they’d seen this fight before But every hand found iron Every shoulder joined the line We heard the distant war drums And answered them in time ### **[Pre-Chorus – Male Vocal]** Let the cold earth shake below us Let the blackened heavens sound We have made our vow together We will never leave this ground ### **[Chorus – Male Vocal and Viking Choir]** This is the ground we swore upon Stand your ground, stand your ground Though the hardest days may come Stand your ground, stand your ground Side by side, we carry on Until the fear is gone This is the ground we swore upon Stand your ground! ### **[Verse 2 – Male Vocal]** The shields bear every scar now The years have marked the grain But what was built by many hands Will not be lost in vain Our fathers raised these rooftops Our children know their names And every voice beside me Makes the weakest spirit brave ### **[Pre-Chorus – Male Vocal]** Let the cold earth shake below us Let the blackened heavens sound We have made our vow together We will never leave this ground ### **[Chorus – Male Vocal and Viking Choir]** This is the ground we swore upon Stand your ground, stand your ground Though the hardest days may come Stand your ground, stand your ground Side by side, we carry on Until the fear is gone This is the ground we swore upon Stand your ground! ### **[Bridge – Male Vocal, Building Choir]** Not for silver, not for glory Not to carve our names in stone We defend the living story Of the place that we have known Raise the banners, sound the warning Let the ancient horns resound We are stronger when united We are rooted in this ground ### **[Final Chorus – Full Viking Choir]** This is the ground we swore upon Stand your ground, stand your ground Though the hardest days may come Stand your ground, stand your ground Side by side, we carry on Until the fear is gone This is the ground we swore upon Stand your ground! This is the ground we swore upon Stand your ground, stand your ground Every daughter, every son Stand your ground, stand your ground Shoulder close and voices strong Together we belong This is the ground we swore upon Stand your ground! ### **[Outro – Deep Male Vocal and Choir]** We do not stand for glory We stand for everyone Upon the ground beneath us Our oath will carry on **Choir:** Stand your ground! Stand your ground! Our oath will carry on! ---
