[Verse 1] Our hearts were stone they felt no flame A barren field that none would claim We turned away from your sweet voice Drowned it out with our own noise [Verse 2] Cold winds blew through our halls inside Shadows lingered where light had died We grieved the Spirit we shut the door But Him we can ignore no more [Chorus] Oh forgiving God we lift our hands Break our pride and heal this land Fill us again with holy fire Make us vessels of your desire [Verse 3] We’re empty jars cracked and dry Desperate for rain from the endless sky Come Holy Spirit flood our soul Mend what’s broken make us whole [Bridge] Breathe in us your mighty wind Let dead bones rise let life begin Your power flows your kingdom reigns We’re here to go and bear your name [Chorus] Oh forgiving God we lift our hands Break our pride and heal this land Fill us again with holy fire Make us vessels of your desire
