Riders of Doom
In the Book of Revelation, the Four Riders appear when the Lamb breaks the first four seals of the hidden scroll. The heavens do not roar in prophecy—there is only silence, and then hooves. The First Rider, on the white horse, wears a crown and carries a bow. He rides to conquer, to claim, to impose his vision upon the world. In the tradition of mystics, he is not victory—he is the rise of the false self, the ego that says I am the center. His conquest begins inside. Beyond this internal dominion, this Rider is also commonly interpreted as Pestilence or Plague, disseminating disease and sowing chaos to mark the true beginning of global devastation. The Second Rider, on the red horse, carries the sword. He takes peace from the earth and sets brother against brother. He is the fire of desire and conflict—the heart at war with itself. Where the ego rises, division follows. The Third Rider, on the black horse, weighs grain with a scale. He is scarcity—not only of food, but of meaning. When the world feels empty, when the prayers echo into nothing—this is his passing. He forces the soul to hunger for truth. The Fourth Rider, pale as ash, rides with Death—and Hades walks in his shadow. He is not cruelty—he is the unveiling. The fall of the masks. The end of illusions. The final silence where what is false dissolves. These Riders do not only cross the earth— they move through every human life, every civilization, every heart. First, the self is formed. Then it struggles. Then it hungers. Then it dies to be reborn. To see the Riders is not to witness the end of the world— but the end of the world as one believed it to be. The Apocalypse is not destruction. It is revelation. The veil tears. And the soul sees. 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴⛈️🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴 Riders from the east Bringers of the dark Silent shadow speaks Tear the world apart First rides Pestilence wild Spreading fear and pain Diseases stacking highly piled Heavens start to rain Then comes the War Bringing fire and the flame Burning fields and skies Nations fall in his name Riders on the storm Spreading death and doom Plagues they will transform Feel the world consume Next is Famine's cold grasp Starving every land Empty bellies will rasp Empty is the hand Last rides the pale horse grim, Death with hollow eyes, Graves awake and shadows swim, Life itself denies. The Second Rider (War) (Revelation 6:4) "And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword." The Third Rider (Famine) (Revelation 6:5–6) "And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine." The Fourth Rider (Death) (Revelation 6:8) "And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth."
