Another night, same storm inside, cigarette burn just to slow my mind. Every drag feels like a prayer I hide, trying to breathe while my nerves collide. (just to slow my mind...) Every day, it’s a war I fight in silence, no scars they can see, just the violence inside us. Hands shake, thoughts spin, I’m tryna stay ready, but peace never answers, it just keeps me ready. (steady... ready...) I tell myself I’m fine, then I break again, smoke fills the room where my doubts begin. Wish I could crawl out of my own design, but I keep crossing the same old line. (break again... can’t get out...) GRIPPING AGAIN — I CAN’T LET GO! THE PRESSURE INSIDE, IT WON’T SAY NO! I’M TIRED OF FIGHTING THIS CONSTANT PULL, EVERY BREATH FEELS SO DAMN DULL! I TRY TO BE NORMAL — BUT I’M NOT BUILT THAT WAY, STILL I KEEP ON WALKING THROUGH THE STATIC EVERY DAY. (can’t let go... not that way...) Some days I swear it’s gone, then it creeps back when I’m alone. It whispers that I’ll never change, that I’m the problem in my own pain. (never change... alone again...) Guitar solo (20 seconds) All these nerves scream through my veins, every thought just leaves a stain. I light another smoke, pretend I’m sane, but I can’t out-run what lives in my brain. (pretend I’m sane... can’t run...) GRIPPING AGAIN — I CAN’T ESCAPE! MY HEART’S A PRISON I CAN’T ERASE! NO PEACE, NO BREAK — JUST THIS ENDLESS FLAME, I KEEP HURTING MYSELF IN MY OWN NAME! I TRY TO BE NORMAL, TRY TO FIT IN, BUT EVERY DAY I’M JUST GRIPPING AGAIN. (still gripping again... can’t escape...) Maybe one day I’ll breathe without shaking, ’til then, I’m just here… still waking. (breathe... still waking...)
