# RICH POOR ### [Intro — Intimate] I used to have so much… and never knew what I had. Now I have so much less… but for the first time, I feel alive. ### [Verse 1] I used to be surrounded by everything I wanted, my hands were full, but my heart was empty. I had people around me, but no real company, smiling out of habit while something hurt inside me. I thought life was about having more to win, that the more I owned, the happier I'd be. But time taught me something I didn't want to hear: you can have the whole world and nowhere to rest. ### [Pre-Chorus] And I had to lose to finally learn to see, that some things weigh much more when you're afraid to let them leave. ### [Chorus] **I was a rich poor man, had it all but I was empty, now I'm a poor rich man, have less but I'm happy. I lost so many things I thought were my whole life, and I found out I was richer when I had nothing.** I don't have it all, but I have my peace, I don't have much, but I still want to dream. If tomorrow brings me something, I'll enjoy what comes my way, because I learned that having isn't having everything. ### [Verse 2] Now I walk alone, but I walk a little lighter, I don't carry the weight of pretending anymore. I still have dreams, I still want to go higher, but I don't need everything just to believe I'm enough. I lost some things I thought would last forever, some people, some doors that never opened again. And there were nights when I could barely breathe, but today I thank even what woke me from my sleep. ### [Verse 3] Now I want more, but not to prove I'm somebody, I want to build a life and learn to appreciate. I want a home that's full, but full of something real, with people who love me for who I am, not what I have. And if someday I get back what I once lost, I hope I remember who I became along the way. Because now I know that wealth isn't counted in money, it's waking up grateful and knowing I'm still here. ### [Bridge — Music Drops] Maybe I'm not rich… the way the world defines it. But I have a reason to wake up and keep going. I have dreams. I have time. I still have a life to live. And if that isn't wealth… then tell me… **what does it mean to be rich?** ### [Final Chorus — Big / Emotional] **I was a rich poor man, had it all but I was empty, now I'm a poor rich man, have less but I'm happy. I lost so many things I thought were my whole life, and I found out I was richer when I had nothing.** I don't have it all, but I have my peace, I don't have much, but I still want to dream. Now every little thing that life gives to me I'll hold it with both hands, knowing it can leave. **I was a rich poor man… now I'm a poor rich man. I used to have so much… now I have what I need.** ### [Outro — Piano] I don't have it all… but I'm alive. I don't have it all… but I can smile. And maybe… that's what being rich was all about from the beginning.
