Traumtänzer (stuck in my dreams)
____________ Foreword: ____________ Looking to escape reality? What if you had the superpower to daydream and escape the turmoil of reality in an instant, whenever you wanted to? „und ich starre in die Leere …“ [HOOK] Between two heartbeats the chains break. secluded from all plagues — I found solace in a quiet place I close my eyes — and dream myself away [Part-2] Ist das Leben wieder trostlos und erhalt’ ich nur Hohn, nehm’ ich den Bissen vom Lotos, leg’ mich in den Mohn. „und niemand kann verhindern (…)“ [HOOK] [END] ____________ ENG: ____________ [Part-1] Looking over rubble and ash, hearing nothing but lament, I begin to build castles in the air and paint within the clouds. Without self-pity I tend to all my scars and drive away every shade of gray with the dream of color. I drift on dreams like floating ice floes, my gaze set on the distance. My head in the clouds as I reach for the stars. I have no doubt in happiness no matter how far I stray. For me there is no return — yet I am also glad to be here. “and I stare into the void…” [HOOK] Between two heartbeats the chains break. secluded from all plagues — I found solace in a quiet place I close my eyes — and dream myself away [Part-2] When life turns bleak again and all I receive is scorn, I take a bite of lotus, lie down in the poppy. As I close my eyes I’m rewarded with blue blossoms and thus bring this pitiable vision to an end. I hear the resonance of dead prayers echo within me, take a sip of Lethe, hear the songs resound. I free myself from the red threads that hold me here, pay the toll with reason and rid myself of everything. “and then I let myself fall…” [HOOK] [Part-3] I don’t want to return — here I am free, as if I were floating. Fascinated and delighted — I begin to see… Though the images are strange, I stare as if paralyzed, hallucinate my happiness just to experience it once. I may be dazed or free of senses, never won anything yet I feel like a winner. On the way to the sun I may burn my fingers, but I will always remember its warmth with a smile. “and no one can stop me (…)” [HOOK] [END] ____________ Concept notes: ____________ The song portrays daydreaming as a form of deliberate mental self-regulation: a consciously induced, temporary withdrawal from an overwhelming environment. Images such as “a sip of Lethe,” “loosening the red threads,” and “paying the toll with reason” symbolize calming intrusive thoughts, releasing attachments, and temporarily quieting cognitive noise—akin to a meditative shift in awareness from which the speaker can return. Imagination becomes a resilience strategy and an act of inner autonomy, aesthetically heightened yet controlled, while acknowledging the seductive pull of this self-created refuge. ____________ Special thanks to: ____________ ...all the people who listened to the demo, gave me feedback, and thanks to whom I can finally complete this project after weeks of work. <3
